  2. Attention Students WLTX, Channel 19 and BiLo are once again joining forces to recognize outstanding teachers who make a difference in his or her students’ lives. Each Tuesday, an outstanding educator will be featured on News 19 Friends @ Five and then again the next morning during News 19 @ 6 am. If you would like to recognize YOUR teacher, go to the WLTX website to do so!

  4. Student Council Fundraiser Support the GHS Student Council to raise funds for GHS Activities and purchase a Sonic value cards for only $5 each. Each card contains 10 savings offers that include "buy one - get one free" deals and 99 cent deals. These will be on sale during the lunches on the stage!

  6. Attention Juniors & Senior Interested in a trip to Washington D.C. to learn more about the US Senate and federal government’s political process? Applications are now available. Deadline – October 1. More information is available in Guidance.

  8. This Weeks Events Thursday, 9/27: Lady Indian Volleyball vs. Brookland-Cayce, AWAY; JV @ 5:30 & Varsity @ 7:00 pm JV Football vs. Midland Valley, HOME; Kickoff at 7:00 pm Friday, 9/28: Varsity Football vs. Midland Valley, AWAY; Kickoff is 7:30 pm!

  9. BAGELS!!!! Bagels are back! Your favorite flavors from Breugger's Bagels will be on sale every Thursday for $1.50 per bagel. Cream cheese is an extra 25cents. Stop by the HOSA Bagel Stretcher this Thursday to get your bagel! And new this week: Pumpkin Bagels!!!! Please stay tuned for a segment on Bagels.

  10. Attention HOSA Members South Carolina HOSA's Fall Leadership Conference will take place on October 18th at Newberry College.   If you are a Gilbert HOSA Officer or if you are considering running for office on the Chapter or State level, you should attend this conference.  Cost of the conference is $25 per person, which includes your lunch.  All registration forms should be returned to Mrs. SueEllen Shealy in 421, as soon as possible, to secure your spot.  Information and registration forms are located outside of room #312 or from any of your HOSA advisors.

  11. Attention HOSA Members Our 2012-2013 HOSA Chapter T-shirts have been designed and orders are presently being taken.  If you want to order a t-Shirt, bring $10 to one of your advisors by Friday, September 28.  Pick up an order form from one of your advisors or outside of room 312. 

  12. Attention FFA Members The second Gilbert FFA Meeting will be held next Tuesday, October 2nd @ 7:00pm. Dues are $15. Come by Mr. Cooper’s room to sign up.

  13. Attention Students The GHS Main Street Players, our Drama Club, met this morning! If you missed the meeting, please contact Mrs. Hilton about information concerning joining the club. Remember, the club is open to ALL GHS students that would like to be involved in the GHS theater program. You do not have to be enrolled in a drama class to participate. If you have any questions, see Mrs. Hilton in room 310 or email her at chilton@lexington1.net.

  14. Volleyball update! In an unbelievable match, the varsity volleyball team defeated Columbia 3 games to 2. The scores were 27-25, 26-28, 25-20, 27-29, and 15-12. The Lady Indians are 11-2-1 overall and 5-1 in the region. The volleyball team will be back in action today as they travel to Brookland Cayce. Match time is 7:00. Congratulations and best of luck, Lady Indians!

  15. Congratulations to the… …swim team on their win against Ridge View High School Monday night!    This weekend is the Region Championship Meet at USC Aiken.  Good luck this weekend to our swimmers!

LOCC Club When?  Wednesday, October 3rd Where?  GHS- room 118 Time?     7:30 am Why?       LOCC Club is  going to be meeting at 7:30 am to plan for recruiting NEW members, RSVP?  Please stop by room 118 to sign up for the meeting before the end of the day on Tuesday, Oct 2.  RED RIBBON WEEK, ordering CUSTOM T-SHIRTS, and designing an EDMODO/FACEBOOK page. LOCC will be providing a light breakfast and I need to know the number of students to expect.  Please bring your own beverage.

  17. Congratulations to… … the Gilbert Varsity Girls Tennis team for their sweep of Midland Valley for another win!  The Indians will meet the Brooklyn-Cayce High School Bearcats at BC TODAY at 4:30 p.m.  Go Luck to the Lady Indians!!!!
