Community and Collaboration • Met with director of Chamber of Commerce • Attended Rotary dinner • Attended Ferndale city council meeting • Attended the Vester Street movie • Attended Pleasant Ridge Ice Cream Social • Attended Pig & Whiskey festival • Attended Royal Oak Twp meeting • Visited summer school classrooms • Attended summer band concerts • Attended marching band camp at Interlochen • Met with county Youth Assistance • Interview with oc115 and Ferndale Friends • Marketing plan is in developing and new logo ideas have been produced • DDA meeting to get banners up and brainstorm collaboration • Attended DDA board meeting • Attended Pleasant Ridge council meeting • Voted in as board member of Chamber

Communication and Trust • Board retreat July 1 • Administration meeting on July 2 • Administration retreat scheduled in August • Administration event on July 23 • Mailings have went out for recruitment during SOC window and UHS/UMS, DLC • Promotional flyers have been distributed • Superintendent and board will be distributing flyers on July 22 • Possible marketing/branding materials are in development • Met with county superintendent and other area superintendents • Met with all maintenance/custodial staff and provided lunch • Various meetings with parent leaders • Started monthly meeting with union leaders and cabinet • First newsletter in production • Fall Eagle Pride campaign • Homecoming festival and events • Working with restaurants for “Meet the Superintendent” evenings and to have FHS athletic paraphilia on the walls • Administration retreat

Inclusion and Respect • In process of reviewing 14/15 budget • Reviewing all achievement data • Developing benchmarks to gauge achievement through out the year • Hired a asst superintendent of finance • Professional development calendar is being developed based on yearly goals • Reaching out to consultants to help us implement “restructuring” in strategic plan • PBIS training taking place in Aug for admin team • Met with county representative for “School to Prison” pipeline

Sustainability and Development • Brought in consultant to review all title and 31a reports and budget for the year • Hiring Asst Superintendent of Curriculum and revising department structures to better focus on student achievement for all • Reviewing all bond funding and developing process to evaluate and approve remaining projects • Participated in filming of UHS commercial • Opening days “Conference of Excellence” • Enrollment is being reviewed on a weekly basis and recommendation of SOC to the board • Developing data for strategic scorecard • Setting up system of evaluation for remaining bond projects • Meeting with Chief Collins • Bond committee meeting • Developing district goals with Board and administration team
