Project • Start with a bistableoperon Choi et al. Science (2008)
Project • Construct an operon with fitness consequences
Project • Competing mutants with wild type or each other • Make mutants of the regulatory protein with differential affinities to the operator
Motivation • Problem: differential equations are clumsy to describe the system given fluctuating environment • Inspiration: individual based model seems more natural to model the system
Challenges • My goal: • Can I use individual based model and is it better than the traditional ones?
