  3. Current Policy • Brady Handgun Violence Protection Act • Mandates background checks of all seeking to purchase a firearm from a licensed dealer • Does not address gun shows or flea markets • Gun Show Loophole Closing Act of 2009 • Seeks to mandate background checks for all sales of firearms
