What will we be doing in school? • Boosters • Targeted teaching • Practice papers to get the children use to the layout/language • Top tips given to support test strategy • During SATs week, after school there will be drop-in sessions for children and parents to discuss or any concerns. These will be daily from 3.15 – 4pm until the end of SATs week.
What happens next … • You will receive a print out of the results in July • The result are not sub-levelled and an explanation of national expectation is included although your child has been set a personalised target to reach • Teacher Assessments are also included and I submit my assessment in May • Results are fed to High School – but my Teacher Assessments are also included
Breakfast Club • On the week of SATs I will have a breakfast club. • Children can turn up any time after 8.25am for toast and juice. • We have found in the past that this helps reduce anxiety as the children can talk to their friends and me before the day begins.
How can you help? • Ensure your child has a goodnight’s sleep. • Make sure they eat breakfast. • Try to keep them calm and remind them that as long as they try their best that’s all we ask • Make sure they arrive at school in plenty of time. • Even if your child is ill during that week it is really important to get them to school. • If there are any issues please ring as soon as possible in the morning
