Communication MC 8 - Medway
Communication How do we communicate with our beneficiaries Communication: - directly with benificiaries - indirectly through intermediate partners (extern and intern) who work with our beneficiaries
Communication Communication directly with the benificiaries • existing techniques used through Succes: • clear language • using a lot of icons • little text • => easy to read so the information is also understandeble for low skilled people or people with low literacy skills
Communication Communication directly with the benificiaries • existing used tools through Succes: • neighbourhood papers: • Every deprived neighbourhood in Kortrijk (5) • Selection of information on neighbourhoodlevel • city news customed at the needs of every neighbourhood + All our activities are published in this neighbourhood papers + Very directed communication to the right target groups • Some times our information get lost between all the other activities • Neighbourhood papers are not very attractive (lay out)
Communication Communication directly with the benificiaries • specific additions by Succes: • spoken communication by our individual Succes guides • Spoken translation of al kind of information customized to every individual client (language, skills level, interests,…) • Written translation of existing brochures (unerstandeble language, by example brochures wise guys) • + Information very directly to the benificiaries • + best results • - takes a lot of time
Communication indirectly communication through intermediate partners and organisations • communication about our own Succes activities • through al kind of intermediate professionals • neighbourhood centre workers, street corner workers, group workers,… • partners and organisations (intern and extern) • who work with or for our beneficiaries
Communication indirectly communication through intermediate partners and organisations • + they know their clients and their interests/skills/needs offen much better than we do • + intermediate professionals who work daily with their clients/guests/visitors have a more familiar relation with them • better placed to propose/to sell less attractive activities (a less attractive ‘interview training’ or session ‘how to present better’) • not again an other (for the umpteenth time) social worker • + we don’t have to start up a new group for every activity we start up • + larger reach in less time • + broader support if also the intermediate professionals support our activities (= durability after the Succes project)
