Mythical facts • Back in the ancient Egyptian times, many Egyptians believed that they were made of clay on a potter’s wheel by the river god, Khnum. • In the ancient Egyptian way, cats were known as sacred animals. • The ancient Egyptian people believed that Anubis was the god of death.   3. Mythical facts (continued) • Nepthyswore a very different and more intense headdress. Her headdress consisted of a basket on top of a house. • The god Thoth was a mediator between good and evil in one of his roles. • Ra was the very first god to live.   4. Mythical facts (continued) • Thoth is the god of knowledge and writing. Many ancient Egyptians believed that he gave the gift of hieroglyphics. • Seth is known as the god of chaos.   5. Mythical facts (continued) • Bastet is a very protective goddess. She is shown with the body of a woman and the head of a cat. • Gebis the god of Earth. He is the god who laid an egg and the sun was born. • Nut is the goddess of the sky.
