Il pendolo di Foucault un dispositivo che mette in evidenza la rotazione della Terra attorno al proprio asse.. Come viene evidenziata la rotazione della Terra? Con l'apparente rotazione del piano di oscillazione del pendolo.. Si tratta di un fenomeno simile a quello che si osserva quando si fa oscillare un pendolo appeso sopra il centro di una giostra e si osserva il suo moto mentre si sta sopra la giostra in rotazione. .
