  2. Introduction • I’ve chosen nursing because my Mum is one so I have a head start. • I will talk about how ICT helps nurses care for patients in a variety of ways.

  3. Monitoring • Nurses use computer monitors to help them know how poorly the patient is. • The monitor measures blood pressure, pulse, heart rhythm, temperature, breath rate and oxygen levels.

  4. X-rays • X-rays are stored on the computer. • Any x-ray can be seen from any computer in the hospital. • X-rays can be sent by computer to any other hospital worldwide.

  5. Medicines • Computers are used to prescribe medicines. • They tell you the right amount of medicine for each patient. • The computer tells you what each medicine is for.

  6. Summary • There are lots of apps for mobile phones that can help nurses as well. • There are lots of other uses of ICT in nursing which help nurses look after patients.
