Initiated in 2006 MIDE is a yearly dive show. • MIDE OBJECTIVES: • Promoting Malaysia and its surrounding waters as Asia’s best diving spots and dive destinations in the world. • Further to promote Malaysia as the world-standard diving destination and its region to the international and domestic divers. • Cultivate and develop the new generation of divers by diverting them to marine environment by making scuba diving as an experience. • Promote major brands of products and services that can be obtained in Malaysia. 6 – 8 July 2012 Putra World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia MIDE Show In Malaysia
Since the first expo, MIDE has seen the increase of visitors and exhibitors participation. YEARLY STATISTIC: Average of 24% yearly increase of booth occupation. Average of 35% yearly increase of exhibitor participation. Average of 25% yearly increase of visitor participation. MIDE2011 has succeeded in achieving its target of creating new generation of divers and promoting major brands. MIDE2011 POST REPORT: Recorded visitor from 40 countries. Visitorship result of 12,008 generated. MIDE2012 is expected to gather a larger scope of visitorship and brand availability. MIDE2012 PROJECTED EXPECTATIONS: Expected visitors count to the expo of 15,000 visitorship. The dive scene in Malaysia has risen tremendously over the past several years. • FACTS AND FIGURES: • With Malaysia’s 27 million in population, it currently has approximately 150,000certified Malaysian divers. • From age of 8 years old to the age of 40 and above. • During MIDE expo: • dive centre recorded sign-up close to 2,000 divers.
