  4. Volleyball News • The volleyball team defeated Obama Academy last night. • The team travels to Gateway tonight for a section match. • Good luck Eagles. 

  5. The Oakland Catholic Science Fiction and Fantasy Club is meeting this Wednesday after school in room 210! • All are welcome to join. • Hope to see you there!

  6. There will be a brief MAPS meeting on Tuesday, Oct 8th directly after school in the study area. • We will discuss an upcoming service opportunity, our Challenge By Choice adventure, and our MAPS t-shirts. • There will be sign up opportunities so please be there and on time. 

  7. Future Business Leaders of America We will have a meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 2:45 pm In Room J202 If you can’t make the meeting, see Mrs. Maxwell

  8. The prom club will have it's first meeting immediately after school in room 211 on Wednesday, October 9. • If you're interested in joining, please plan to attend. • Hope to see you there!

  10. Congratulations to Senior Tennis Players Nicole Cyterski, Olivia Rauktus, Claire Ozelak, Mara Weardon, Carolyn Cost and Katherine Durkin. • Today is Senior Night at Frick Park at 3:30pm. Oakland Catholic will be playing Woodland Hills in a match. • Good Luck Seniors and Tennis Team!

  11. After dropping a close 1-0 loss to Juniata High School last Friday, the Eagles Soccer team bounced back on Saturday beating Central Mountain 3-1 to wrap up their annual trip to State College.  Sophomore Emma Lowry, freshman Grace Alexander and junior Abbe Richard all scored with freshman Claudia Lenhart picking up two assists and Grace Alexander the third.  The Eagles travel to the Schenley Oval for a Section 3 contest with Allderdice tonight. Good Luck Eagles!!!

  12. This past Saturday, OC's rowing team competed at the Head of the Ohio regatta. • The JV 4 for put in a solid, strong race, and the 1V and 2V both won silver in their events. • Congratulations, ladies!

ANY and ALL students interested in joining the step team or seeing what it's all about, please meet us for an INTEREST MEETING in the Aux Gym on Tuesday, October 8th, directly after school until approximately 3:30. • Tryout practices will be 3:15 - 5:00 on Wednesday, October 9th, Tuesday, October 15th, and Thursday, October 17th.   • Official Tryouts are 3:15 on Tuesday, October 22 in the Aux Gym.

  17. OC OC what's our yell?  • Calendars, calendars, sell, sell, sell!  • There is no turn in this week, but be sure to take advantage and double up your sales to turn in on October 9.  • We're almost at the goal of a day off from school! 

  18. The 47th Annual Duquesne University College Fair will be held at the A.J. Palumbo Center on Sunday, October 13th from 1PM to 3PM Over 150 colleges and universities will be in attendance.  This is a great way to meet with representatives from a variety of schools No registration is required.

  19. Submitto Forté • Are you an ARTIST? Are you a photographer, a poet, a doodler, an author, a dancer, a painter? • Then submit your art, whatever it may be, to FORTE, OC’s Art and Literary Magazine • Drop off submissions in Room 208 or send scanned or video submissions to oaklandcatholicforte@gmail.com • Our theme this year is PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE • Deadline for Submissions is November 15th
