CMS RPC muon system. RPC detector performance - 2010-2012 runs. Three HV scans between 2011 and 2012. Very stable results (HV 50% - HV WP ). Average detection efficiency was about 95 % a t the end of the 2012. Automatic working point correction versus P/T

RPC detector performance - 2010-2012 runs Three HV scans between 2011 and 2012. Very stable results (HV50% - HVWP) Average detection efficiency was about 95% at the end of the 2012. Automatic working point correction versus P/T was fundamental to stabilize the performances. Inactivech. % Number of “disconnected” channels was stable between 2 and 2.5 % (noisy channels, electronics problem and HV/LVoff channels)
RPC hardware failures during the 2010-2012 RPC system consists of: • 942 chambers + 144 (2014 upgrade) • 3434 gas gaps • 300 K electronics channels • 7.5 K HV connectors • 4 K gas connection (T or L shape) • 16 K gas inlet • HV/LV failures: • 12 out of 942 (1.3%) chambers where OFF at the end of 2012 • 43 single gap mode chambers • All repaired during the long shut-down (2013-2014) • Gas Leaks: T and inlet connection fragility • 16 leaky chambers have been found in half barrel - 8 have been successfully repaired • Endcap (no T connection) is ok – no leak • T connection is the most delicate components. Total failure of 0.4% • New gas C2H2F4-less R&D mandatory Distribution board and Threshold setting: about 1 % of channels have been masked for THR. An improved version of the distribution board has been installed in the 14 “broken” chambers (3.8%)
