Comparing Apples to Apples In order to make a valid comparison between consumption in the Base Year and consumption in a Savings Year, certain criteria must be taken into account. • Changes in Weather • Changes in Building Square Footage and Usage • Differences in the length of the Billing Periods and Rates The accounting program adjusts the Base Year consumption to reflect these changes in an Apples to Apples comparison.
Program Started Initial program started: December 2006 Due to a slow start: Program results for the first 5 Months (Dec 06-Apr 07) had a savings of 2% which totaled $13,501 Program re-start in May 07: Program results for the last 40 Months (May 07 to September 2010) had an average energy savings of 36.8% which totaled $2,273,294 in cost avoidance.
Environmental Benefits Galloway Township Public Schools has a energy reduction impact of 55,383 MMBTU in a 40 month period. These savings are equal to: 6,006 tons of carbon dioxide emissions being prevented, or 1,078 automobiles being removed from the highways annually, or 153,630 Trees seedlings grown for 10 years.
