MuTRG-FEE Update. RIKEN/RBRC Itaru Nakagawa. High Rates Issue. MuTR signal ~ 10us  Pile up at 100kHz. How these rates distributes in MuTR? If backgrounds come from beam pipe, shall we see strong radial dependence? Where these rates come from? Can we claim the beam quality?.

  2. High Rates Issue • MuTR signal ~ 10us  Pile up at 100kHz. • How these rates distributes in MuTR? • If backgrounds come from beam pipe, shall we see strong radial dependence? • Where these rates come from? • Can we claim the beam quality?

  4. Raw hit rate (run276619,clk) South North No indication of strong radial dependence, yet. We took special runs with inner anodes off. Analysis underway. 4 Slide from Tsutomu Mibe

  6. Beam Spacial Size at Triplet 5mm @ 35 m ~ 12  Beam is Smaller everywhere than 200 GeV

  8. Non-Shield Hole Non shielded square hole in Shield Wall Around Beam pipe

  9. Background Counter in MuID Square Hole N1 S1,N1 Counters are vertically standing right next to the beam pipe

  10. Summary • Hunting for rates issue • Can we expect cleaner beam in future?  probably not. • What to do then? • Identify source of backgrounds and shield it.
