Notebook Set up Left SideRight Side • The left side LOVES student work!! • This is the side you can use to show your creativity!!! • This is the OUT PUT page • The right side is RESTRICTED! • Contains only information given by Mrs. Corbin! • Nothing else is on the right side.
Right Side • The right side belongs to Mrs. Corbin • The right side contains all testable information • Date • Title and Unit • Vocabulary • Class, reading, and discussion notes • Worksheets • Study Guides • Quizzes • Content and Objectives • Other relevant information
Right Side • Should be completely done. • Should clearly have the title written at the top in the center, the date in the left-hand corner, and the page number in the right hand corner. • All assignments should be in chronological order by the times they were assigned. • All right side assignments should be done ONLY on the right side (unless otherwise instructed).

Left Side • Left side is to record YOUR thinking, reflections, questions, thoughts, impressions, connections and wonderings. • The left side belongs to YOU! • Apply skills learned in class • Use graphs, charts, diagrams, research • Make connections between new and old learning • Questions • Drawings/illustrations • Classwork • Brain Storming • Foldables • Sketches (related to the topic) • Other relevant information
Examples of Left Side Assignments… • All of these can be done for the left side of each right side page. EVERY individual right side page (even if the right side continues to a new page) must have an accompanying left side.
Science Notebook Rules! • No ripped out pages or torn corners • No doodling that doesn’t relate to the notes or topic • Notebook should be used for SCIENCE CLASS ONLY! • Date, Title and page number each page! • ALL entries must go into the table of contents. • All right side pages must have left side pages the following day • Be colorful, creative, and LOVE your notebook!
