Artworks Sandy Skoglund- Fox Games (1989) Priyam Patel- Hunting In Dark (2013) I chose Sandy Skoglund’s Fox Game as my innovation to complete the allocated project focusing on the Design’s principle - Movement
Why was Sandy Skoglund’s work Impactful ? This artist’s work is impactful to me because it shows the structure, color combination, repetition and the value of the artwork. The way she uses the colors, creates a picture in the viewer’s brain of how she could do it and how long it would have taken. The method of creating surrealist images by building elaborated sets excites and makes people interested when viewing the artwork. The best part of her artwork is that it makes you think about what's going on in the scene.
Similarities The artwork, Hunting in Dark have similar pieces of designs as Fox Games. The particularly chosen parts of the both artworks are similar in the way of creating the feeling of movement and the desire to run for something the creature want. In Hunting In Dark, the running puma represents the movement and the background darkness represents the color theme or combination as used in Fox Games. My artwork also includes outside influences such as it represents that its not safe in dark.
Differences Priyam Patel- Hunting In Dark (2013) Sandy Skoglund- Fox Games (1989) The differences in my artwork and Sandy Skoglung’s artwork is an element of form, the color scheme and the repeating pattern. Sandy Skoglund photographs 3 dimensional picture in the studio and then creates a 2 dimensional photograph. Although the artwork I created, has different element of form and the mixtures of color.
Likeness I think Sandy Skoglund would have liked my artwork because it is inspired by her artwork. An artists’ main goal to create an artwork is to try and make people think deeply in the work they made. Artworks are mostly based on the past, present and future stories that makes them interested. Although there are differences in my artwork, there are also similar things that makes an artist like it.
