  1. Body Systems Presentation Due: FridayJune 1No Later than 4:00pm Must submit outline of presentation and copy of quiz you will be administering to the class

  2. Your MissionShould You Choose to Accept… • Biotech Labs Inc. is a genetic engineering company who believes they can create the perfect body by eliminating one of the body systems. You and your team of scientist have been hired to persuade the biotech panel not to eliminate your assigned body system. Your team must present a solid argument indicating why your body system is not only important and cannot be eliminated, but how it interacts with other systems to keep the entire body functioning.

  3. Mission Accepted… • Work in Groups of 3-4 to research an assigned body system, create a visual aid (tri-fold project board, ppt, prezi or other professional visual) and present findings to the class. • Each group member will act as an expert in the field of study and will be assessed based on his/her individual research and contribution to the final presentation • All members must be professionally dressed on the day of presentations(No shorts, t-shirts, camisoles, tights, flip flops, or open toe sandals, Dark denim only [jeans], no holes. Points will be deducted accordingly).

Mission Accepted… • The Oral Presentation must be 5-10 minutes in length and must contain appropriate images/diagrams • All sources must be cited appropriately in the form of a works cited page at the end of ppt or cited appropriately throughout presentation • All work must be completed by the deadline and groups must be prepared to present on their assigned date. No late Projects will be accepted!

Mission Made Possible… • Conduct research on your assigned body system using references from the Vault • Meet with your expert team to compare/discuss findings and plan presentation • Presentation should be organized so that information is easy to follow and makes sense. Keep your audience in mind (the average 9th grade student). Visual aids Must be used • Presentation must include a Q&A session containing a 5-10 question quiz (can be oral, paper/pencil, game, crossword, word search, etc.) Good Luck Team!

Mission Protocol… • Identify how your body system functions. • Identify major organs and their function. • Identify other body systems your body system interacts with to help keep the body functioning properly. • Describe at least one disease that affects your system - Name the disease and describe the symptoms caused by the disease. - Describe how the disease affects your body system. Identify if its caused by a bacteria or virus. - Describe the duration (how long it last) - Describe how the disease can be treated. • Create a quiz covering three or more major concepts from overall presentation to be administered to the class.

Mission Accomplished… • Projects are completed and Oral presentations ready by due date: outline and copy of quizMay 31st & June 1st • Presentation uses appropriate language which is targeted toward the average 9th grade audience • Scientific terminology is used accurately and broken down for the targeted audience (average 9th grade student) • Presentation contains all required information, is well organized and easy to follow. Transition between topics is smooth • Visual aids are creative, colorful, easy to read and used effectively

Mission Accomplished… • Presentation is loud & given at a slow steady pace • Eye contact is made throughout the entire presentation • Experts did not read directly from the presentation (be familiar with your topic and be able to talk about it as in conversation) • Each team member participated as equally as possible and individuals worked well in their groups
