Description • I can learn that the artwork is called Black Iris and that the artist who drew it use dark colors . • I can recognize that the both pieces of art have dark colors but there are some parts that use light colors like white and a light pink . • I see some dark colors like black ,purple ,and maroon ,and the Black Iris is an oil on canvas
Analysis • The focal point is the black part od the Iris . Why ?Because it’s the center of the flower . • The balance is symmetrical and the mood of the Iris sad . • First it starts out large and then it decreases it looks normal . • The elements are repeated to create a pattern . • Yes, both hemispheres are identical if inverted at the right angle. There are organic patterns.
Interpretation • It’s a flower that is opening and blooming . • The artist wanted to give a sad feeling . • The Iris reminds me of my moms garden because she has them in her garden.
Judgment • It’s a success because it gives a sad feeling . • The work is unique because the artiest use dark colors and the flower represents what the artiest felt .
