OD HV Upgrade Hans Berns Jeff Wilkes U. of Washington 10/14/01
New OD HV Paddle Cards: • VME 9U height (14.4") • Standard VME C-type front panel and ejector latches for robust and precise mounting • High voltage relay instead of jumper for each PMT channel. • Front panel DIP switches for manual enable/disable of each channel. • LEDs for HV status of each PMT channel on front panel (relay on/off display). • Header jack on front panel for relay remote control input. • Remote control system is under development • LEMO jack on front panel for each PMT signal • Scope signal available without disconnecting the coax ribbon cable to the QTC.
Channel circuit changes • Old paddle cards • New paddle cards
Installation • Test installation (Hut 1): 11/21/00 • Full installation began: 4/27/01 • Completed: 5/2/01
Shift workers’ notes • Switches and indicators: • enable/disable channel with DIP switch • LED on = enabled HV in from LeCroy supplies Ribbon cable = HV relay power/control Lemos for scope ports Same cables to QTCs
Procedure for disabling OD channels • Procedure for disabling or enabling an OD channel: • DISABLE the selected HV channel using the LeCroy HV controller in the appropriate hut. • Change the setting of the dip switch for desired channel on its paddle card • red LED next to the LEMO jack of each channel shows whether the relay is on or off.Note: The LEDs monitor relay status only, NOT HV status! • RE-ENABLE the selected HV channel. • For full details: see http://www-sk.icrr.u-tokyo.ac.jp/ ~berns/SUPERK/odhelp.html#paddlecards
