    2. PURPOSE: To present and discuss: the Army’s newly awarded Microsoft enterprise license agreement – 2 (MS ELA-2). OBJECTIVES: By the end of this presentation you will be able to: The basis of the Army MS ELA – 2 award Understand what’s new in the MS ELA-2 What are the Army core products Changes to portable use rights Employee purchase programs available What is the Army Golden Master (AGM)

NEW IN THE MS ELA - 2 Ordering site is scheduled to be available by the end of Aug 09 Interim ordering site to accept SA renewals will be available soon SA renewals must be completed by 31 Aug 2009 Microsoft Office SA will not be renewed and organizations should not be purchasing any version past Office 2007 Ordering will be decentralized Orders done by delivery order Credit Card Funding determinations are being completed for the core items detailed on the next slide All items will be offered at the set quantities but the Army does not have to count if they use more than that quantity Army is looking into centrally funding these items (not determined)

    6. PORTABLE USE RIGHTS The right to install a second copy of certain application software products on a portable computer, for the exclusive use of the primary user of the first copy. Products eligible for Secondary use: Microsoft FrontPage Microsoft MapPoint Microsoft Project Microsoft Visio Microsoft SharePoint Designer

ARMY GOLDEN MASTER (AGM) The AGM is the Army’s defined baseline standard for the Office Productivity computing environment The AGM provides: Core standard operating systems Standard desktop core application environment Current, standardized, and approved security templates Build is managed by 9th SC (A) Distribution managed by the Army Microsoft Enterprise License process through Softmart and CHESS One major release annually, updates available monthly
