Many prints are both dodged and burned. • In either case it is to bring out more detail in your print • Use test strip to decide how long to burn or dodge-usually 50% to 100% of the original time
Steps • Print your photo • Map the print • Test strip problem areas • Use foam board or cardboard to cover or expose those areas • Use/check out specialized tools for the job • Use test strip to decide how long to burn or dodge-usually 50% to 100% of the original time
Agitate the tool (move it around) to prevent a light line on your print. You want it to “fade” into the print. • Be sure your cardboard or foam board is larger than your print when you are burning a corner • Develop your print • Can use your hands, poster board or cut shapes you need.
Turn in • 2 sets of prints – one set before you dodge/burn • Total of 4 prints for the space/line & dodge/burn • The second set are final prints for Space/Lines Assignment • 1 Dodge1burn or both
