NCI Competing Renewals • NCI has strict 10% budget cap for competing renewal applications. • PI cannot ask for more than 110% of the amount you received in DIRECT costs for the last non-competing year. • IF application is submitted exceeding the cap, and selected for funding, NCI will reduce the amount of the award to comply with policy. http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/not-ca-08-026.html
Non-Competing Grant Awards under the Current Continuing Resolution “Under the continuing resolution (currently through March 4, 2011) NIH will issue non-competing research grant awards at a level below that indicated on the most recent Notice of Award (generally up to 90% of the previously committed level).” • NIH will consider upward adjustments to these levels after the final appropriation is enacted. http://grants.nih.gov/grants/guide/notice-files/NOT-OD-11-037.html
