  2. All year we have been working with numerous texts and literary techniques. This final will test you on your ability to identify, define and analyze the techniques present in an excerpt from one pieces we have read this year. This is your chance to highlight the skills you have developed in close reading. Purpose

  3. On your assigned final day, you will be given a random excerpt from one of the pieces we have read this year. You will have 5 minutes to read, annotate and analyze your excerpt and 5 minutes to present your analysis to the class. Directions

  4. Study all of the literary techniques we have covered this year, as you will not be allowed to use any notes during this final. Review the literature we have read this year. Preparation

Provide context for the piece (if necessary) • Present the title, author, and character speaking. • Present the literary techniques that play a significant role in developing the overall theme or author’s purpose. • Make sure you: • Define and identify the significant literary techniques • Analyze how they contribute to the author’s overall purpose and/or theme Expectations for Presentation
