Phase 1: Collection of Student Course Requests • Step 1: School defines course dictionary and scheduling parameters. • Step 2: Setup default course recommendations for students. • Core Course Progression Charts determine default recommendations for students. • Step 3: Teachers make modifications to recommendations. • Teacher can make recommendations for NON-CORE Courses • Step 4: Students complete online course request screen. • Step 5: Counselor approves student selections. • Step 6: Course requests transferred to TERMS.
This screen can be used to query courses by any of the displayed parameters.
If a teacher is teaching a core course (English, Math, Science, Foreign Language, Social Studies) then the teacher will see the Record Teacher Recommendations option in the dropdown menu. Click the “Record Teacher Recommendations” option.
To display next year’s course request selection screen choose Course Requests from the dropdown box.
When subject area tab is clicked available choices are presented to student. Student click on in the “check box” to select primary and alternative courses Example of English – required default
As students select courses a list is compiled. Check marks will appear in appropriate “Primary” or “Alternate” column. Courses Selected SAVE READY FOR COUNSELOR REVIEW EXIT
Guidance Counselor Choose COURSE REQUEST SEARCH/APPROVALand clickGO.
A guidance counselor or school administrator will have the ability to modify the student’s non-core only course recommendations . The administrator will click in the checkbox to delete the recommendation and can choose a subject area, subject level and course to add a recommendation (non-core only). The user must press the SAVE button to save their changes.
