Early Africa. By: Jesse , Emma, and Amanda. Food. The people of Africa ate a lot of protein from meat from sheep, cattle, goat , sea food, and tuna, . They also liked to eat wild vegetables, yams, olive oil, palm oil, and eto which is made of yams, palm oil, and eggs.

Food • The people of Africa ate a lot of protein from meat from sheep, cattle, goat , sea food, and tuna, . • They also liked to eat wild vegetables, yams, olive oil, palm oil, and eto which is made of yams, palm oil, and eggs. • On special occasions they ate eto. They also grow yellow watermelon.
shelter • This is a typical house and it is very strong and round. The mud is like cement. • The roof is a thick grass-thatch . In the summer time it is cool in the mud house. • Africans favor different neon colors. They thought it would shoo away the bad spirits.
Environment • Central Africa is mainly made up of wet rainforests. • In contrast to Central Africa, Egypt is very dry, which made it good for mummies. • The rainiest places in Africa are Central Africa, Ethiopia, and East Africa.
Art • Art started in Egypt at around 3500 BC. Egypt has a ton of stone and iron. • Egyptians started with painting life size statues. • Africa did a lot of art, such as pottery, churches , pyramids, and rock art.
toys • Africans would make homemade toys from wood, straw, animal skins, bones, and stones. • African kids would draw boxes in the dirt and play hop scotch. They would hide and seek too. • They would also play soccer . • They would take a coconut and rap straw to the coconut and wined it with string and played with it.
What contributions have they made to present day • The Egyptians have made a lot of inventions that help us. They made the calendar, which really helped with knowing what day it was. • Africa was the first place that had a counting system. • Egyptians have had pharaohs since 3000 B.C. to even now! They have had servants for that long too.
weapons • They used things like knives and catapults to defend themselves against their enemies . • They would also use arrows and spears to hunt and for war. • They protected themselves from animals with colorful neon masks on the front and the back of their head.
tradition • Africans would paint there faces for holidays are for special occasions. • Africans would make stories and act it out with masks. • Africans loved music. Some of the instruments are sticks, drums, and (finger harps or called a thumb piano)
Fun facts • The Sahara desert was not always a desert it was once a green and lush plain, a home to many animals and people. • There are millions of different tribes in Africa. • Ghana was nicknamed the “land of gold” because lots of gold was found there.
