  1. Good Morning, Precalculus! To prepare for class: 1. Take out your DO NOW sheet and start today's DO NOW! Do Now: Solve for principal values of x. Express your solutions using radians. a) 4sin2x - 1 = 0 b) 2cos2x + cosx - 1 = 0

  2. Do Now Solve for principal values of x. Express your solutions using radians. a) 4sin2x - 1 = 0

  3. Do Now b) 2cos2x + cosx - 1 = 0

  4. CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK!!

  5. CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK!! In the United States, the “poverty threshold” is $19,090 for a household of 3 people. Currently, the minimum wage is $7.25 an hour. Would one parent working full time (40 hours a week) at a minimum-wage job provide a family of 3 enough money to be considered above the “poverty threshold”? Should the federal minimum wage be raised? Write a one-paragraph “letter” to a government official arguing your point. Provide an argument based on mathematical evidence. P.S., there are 52 weeks in a year. CRITERIA FOR FULL CREDIT: 1. Your response must be written in a letter format, with a proper greeting and signature. 2. Your PARAGRAPH must be AT LEAST 5 sentences. 3. You must provide mathematical proof, clearly explained in words, for your reasoning. 4. The problem is handed in by Wednesday, April 3.

  10. Practicing with Whiteboards!!

  11. Solve each equation for principal values of x. Express solutions in degrees. 2sin2x - 1 = 0

  12. Solve each equation for principal values of x. Express solutions in degrees. cosx = 3 cosx - 2

  13. Solve each equation for principal values of x. Express solutions in degrees. sec2x + tanx - 1 = 0

  14. Solve each equation for principal values of x. Express solutions in degrees. 4sin2x - 4sinx + 1 = 0

  15. Solve each equation for principal values of x. Express solutions in degrees. cos2x + sinx = 1
