Update on the Soccer Tailgate Event on Sunday, September 26th • Under “monsoon” weather conditions, 3 parents, 1 current KSU student and 1 current high school soccer player attended the event • Over 50 persons sent an RSVP for the event • Great support from Athletics, Dean of Students and Parent Orientation
What Did We Learn? • Parents like and will respond to Evites • Giving parents to the Foundation website to “Make a Gift” is not effective • Foundation cards in the mail look like the way to get parents to join (discussion)
Facebook / Evite / Email / Snail Mail • Currently 249 members on Facebook page • PFA FB is now linked to Orientation FB • Evite has proven to be the most effective way to get an RSVP for PFA events • How much should we use direct email? • Is a mailing with the KSU Foundation card and return envelope possible?

Parent Family Association Dinner“Return to Owl Town” at The Commons • Friday, October 22nd 8:00 p.m. - 9:30 p.m. • PFA table at Commons entrance • RSVP via Evite, Facebook or pfaksu@kennesaw.edu • Provide wristbands for entrance for $10 • If parents pay for membership, is Dinner free (?) • Meet and Greet event in meeting room at approximately 8:45 (?)
Pre-Game Reception at the Stadium Saturday, October 23rd4:00 - 6:00 p.m. • PFA table display (?) • Who will be present at the event (?) • Foundation cards, receipt book and cash box (?) • What is being offered at the event (?) (for promotions)
Family Fun Day Free activities including “Playing Your Way Around the World: Education Through Cultural Games” (lead by the International Student Association) a pizza lunch and the movie “Cloudy With A Chance of Meatballs” Activities are geared towards children 12 yrs old and younger.
Programming Ideas for November and December 2010 Invite parents to collaborate with the Adult Learner Student Organization (ALSO) and attend the annual “Feast of Sharing” which collects canned food and money for “Feed the Future” and collects formal wear for “Project Perfect Prom” where the dresses tuxes and accessories are donated to Foster Care Support Foundation of Alpharetta which gives foster children the opportunity to attend their high school proms.

Reality Check • The KSU Foundation has only received one $35 donation for the Parent and Family Association
