13. SME Integrated Project (Thematic Priority 3) Idea Within priority 3, to propose SME Integrated projects with two objectives: 1. To assist traditional sectors in developing value added products and services (Research intensive SME as technology provider and developer) 2. To help research intensive SME to further increase their technology competencies (SME as technology developer and researcher)

14. Characteristics of SME Integrated Project • Substantial SME participation • SME with high R&D capacity are leading the project • probably smaller than “normal” IP’s • large companies can be present if SMEs so wish • possible combination of EU-funding with Venture Capital
