History • In 1609 Henry Hudson helped the Dutch and Swedish settle in their establishment. • In 1738 New Jersey was separated from New York. • New Jersey joined the U.S. on December 18, 1787.
Economics and Resources • Farmland covers one million acres or 20% of New Jersey. • New Jersey is ranked high in producing all garden vegetables and cranberries, blueberries, and peaches. And also foods such as poultry, dairy products, and seafood. • Today New Jersey is called the Cross Roads of the east, because 15,000 factories ship stuff like goods on that particular road. On that road stuff can be delivered to sixty million people over night.
