How the Bologna has affected the work of the Student Mobility Office, our point of view: • We have switched to the ECTS credit system and with the countries where it has adopted it has easied the work of transfer and validation of students curricula. • We are still experimeting........ during the past 3 years (it is still evolving) the Socrates Commission has taken different decisions about the period to be spent abroad....... before the Bologna Process all faculties of Engineering and Architecture send their students abroad during the 4th and/or 5th year, at the moment most faculties of Engineering allow their students to leave on the last year of the Laurea Magistrale whereas Architecture students can choose to leave during the I or II level. • The duration of the exchange programme has been reduced compared to the past, except for the Double Degree programme which has been extended for a semester in most case. • Universities try to be more attractive to foreign students and have started to offer courses or degree in English, this has increased the student mobility in both directions.
