  5. Safety Procedures • If in a shelter, get to the lowest level of the place andget under a table. • Stay away from windows! • If in a vehicle, abandon it and lie in a ditch or culvert. • Main thing is get underground and under a table.

  7. Daulatpur-Salturia Tornado • Deadliest tornado in world history was recorded in Bangladesh on April 26, 1989. • It killed approximately 1,300 people.

  8. Super Outbreak • The most extensive tornado outbreak was the Super Outbreak that went through a large area of central United States and southern Ontario in Canada on April 3 & 4, 1974. • There was 148 tornadoes in 18 hours; Seven of them were F5s and 23 were F4s.

  9. Super Outbreak Cont. • However this record was broken during the April 25-28, 2011 tornado outbreak. • This one featured 358 tornado touchdowns.
