Did You Get It? • Solving this puzzle at the beginning of our lesson is fitting because this lesson is all about messages, some of which can be hidden! • As we learned with the Taylor Swift ad, when you look at media there are many questions you should ask yourself. The question we will be examining more closely is who made the message and why? • We will read aloud from the text pretty and print (pg. 4-7)before examining several pieces of media for ourselves!

  8. Your Task • Create your own piece of media with a message and purpose. Kiki’s Funnel Cakes in Bramalea City Centre is holding a “Back To School Contest”. Their advertisement reads as follows: Enter To Win • Kiki’s is giving away FREE Funnel Cake to the best online social media video. Be creative, YOU CAN create a short vine/dance/song/interview or just simply tell us why you love Kiki’s funnel cakes and post it on Kiki’s twitter page (@ - kikisfunnelcake) for the month of October & you could win a FREE Funnel Cake. It’s that easy Kids!! • While each of you are to create a video to be viewed it class. You SHOULD NOT enter the contest without parental permission!
