Captain’s Log Journal 1 • We are leaving Earth and you are journaling about it: Describe your feelings as the rocket takes off and you see Earth fading away. Describe the things from Earth you will miss. Talk about the things you look forward to about life on Mars. Describe the one item you are holding in your lap and why you are taking it with you.

2nd hour invention/services list • Military Food Packages – food that doesn’t go bad, easy to travel with • Solar panels – generate electricity when the sun is out, helps when generators go down • Cell phones – to talk to people when you are out at other places – emergencies • Portable cooler – keep stuff cold • GPS – track your position and know where to go
4th hour inventions/ services • Cars – help travel faster • Microwave – heat food quicker • Water filtration – clean impurities out of the water • Shopping cart – carry food • Cars that can park themselves – help with technology and parking • Books – record history • Airplanes – to travel further faster than car/boat
