  3. Classroom Expectations: • Organization/Responsibility: homework, agenda, reading logs, binder organized, being prepared • Follow 4th Grade Rules • Living the Reidenbaugh Pledge • Communication • Monthly newsletter • Important paper section • Website

  4. Technology • - My Math passwords • Internet access • Tech Days • Remind 101 (Take out cell phones)

  5. Homework Expectations • Reading every night • Math nightly (must know facts) • Science/Social Studies will vary • Homework should last no more than 40 minutes. • No homework on Fridays

  6. Reading in 4th Grade • Reading curriculum is Harcourt. • Students will be placed based on their need. • Your child’s reading grade will reflect: • Reading logs • Vocabulary (Robust words) • Comprehension (1 Anthology story every 8-10 days) • Focus Skill (main idea, character’s motives, inference, etc.)

  7. Math • Students are placed in flexible math groups for each unit based on their scores on the pretest. • Our math curriculum, Math Connects and My Math, is available online to your child. They will have access to all of these sites on the class webpage.

  8. 4th Grade Expectations • - Credit and debit system • - Each student will be given a credit/debit card for each week. They can earn tallies from teachers throughout the week and then collect their earnings on “pay day”. • There will be a prize cart where students can spend their earnings. There will also be grade level celebrations that students will have to “pay” to attend. (Ex - kickball games) THANK YOU PTO!!! • Parents can donate items to the store!

  9. Parent Volunteers • Must have clearances • May be volunteering in other classrooms • Sign out next to conferencing paper • (Only Room Volunteers)

  10. Notes From the Principal 1. If a car rider - send in a note - no changes to a student's transportation after 3:00 2. When returning from an absence - send in an excuse note the date the student returns 3. If going on a vacation - send in a note BEFORE taking the vacation because it needs to be approved 4. Make changes to emergency form on the computer ASAP - important to have updated phone numbers and emails 5. Return all paperwork ASAP 6. Review dress code - closed toed shoes are really helpful for playground
