2 Regional UNDG Teams • Work of the regional UNDG teams is guided by the 2004 TCPR; the Oslo Global Regional Directors Meeting (2008); and Management and Accountability System for the UN Development and RC System Paper
3 Core functions of the Regional UNDGs The Management & Accountability Framework and its implementation plan include the following core functions of the RDTs: • The Provision of coherent technical support to RCs and UNCTs • Quality Assurance of UNDAF/UN Programme • Performance management • ”Trouble shooting” in difficult country situations, dispute resolution etc.
4 Division of Labour between regional UNDGs/DOCO/UN Staff College • Regional UNDGs: • Support the planning process • Assist in making UNDAFs strategic • Collect and document lessons learned • Provide technical inputs/expertise as part of the Peer Support Group (PSG)
Division of Labour between regional UNDGs/DOCO/UN Staff College 5 • DOCO: • Policy Guidance • Liaise with UN System Staff College • Monitor quality of support provided • Analyse lessons learned globally • Provide financial support
6 Division of Labour between regional UNDGs/DOCO/UN Staff College • UNSSC: • Training of facilitators and resource persons • Maintain and manage rosters of experts • Provide facilitation teams for UNDAF Workshops • Facilitate UNDAF Workshops • Develop training materials for inter-agency use
Criteria to Consider Requests from UNDAF Rollout Countries for In-Country Workshops Commitment Senior level UNCT commitment to the integration of HRBA into the UNDAF process Timing The HRBA workshop is part of the country’s UNDAF road map and planned to take place before the finalization of the country analysis (at least 3 months prior to the SPR) High interest from government partners

UNDAF Action Plan • UNDG Guidelines on the 5 Programming Principles • Assessing UNCT Comparative Advantages for UNDAF Preparation and Implementation, Technical Note (DRAFT) • Checklists to assess the quality and strategic positioning of the UNDAF
