  1. Marks of A Disciple

  2. Understandthe goal: Transformation, not more information!

  3. Rom. 12:1-2, HCSB Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.

  4. A Disciple is… “someone who loves God with all his heart, soul and mind, and tries to become more and more like Him through a life of faith and obedience.” --Bill Bright

  5. Evaluate Your Progress: What are the marks of a Disciple?

  6. Assurance of Salvation I have written these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13, HCSB

  7. Fruit of the Spirit But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law. Now those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. If we live by the Spirit, we must also follow the Spirit. Gal. 5:22-25, HCSB

  8. Showing Love for God and Others He said to him,”Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important commandment. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself.” Matt. 22:37-39, HCSB

  9. A Diligent Student of God’s Word Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who doesn’t need to be ashamed, correctly teaching the word of truth. 2 Tim.2:15, HCSB

  10. A Vibrant Prayer Life “Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses every thought, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 4:6-7, HCSB

  11. Obedience to God’s Word Jesus answered, “If anyone loves Me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him and make Our home with him.” John 14:23, HCSB

  12. A Lifestyle Witness Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” Matt. 28:19-20, HCSB

  13. Investing in the Local Church And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works, note staying away from our meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near. Heb. 10:24-25, HCSB
