  2. Hera • Hera’s symbols are the staff, crown, and the peacock. • Her realm is the marriage goddess. • She is married to Zeus and is also Zeus’ sister.

  3. Zeus • Zeus is the supreme god. • He is married to Hera the queen of Olympus. • His realm is supreme god. • His symbol is the thunderbolt. • Zeus had many wives in his life, his first wife was Metis, she was a daughter of a titan and, she was the goddesses of prudence, and Zeus needed her good advice.

  4. Poseidon • Poseidon’s realm is the seas. • His symbol is the trident. • He is also the other brother of Zeus.

  5. Athena • Athena has many symbols some of them are Medusa’s breast plate, her war helmet, and her spear. • Her realm is wisdom and war for just causes. • Athena is the daughter of Zeus, she was born in Zeus’ head.

  6. Aphrodite • Her realm is the goddess of love and beauty. • Her symbol is the dove and rose. • Aphrodite was the only Olympian who had neither a mother or father. • No one new where she had come from. • Zeus was worried that she would “get tackled” for a wife. So Zeus quickly gave her to Hephaestus , his brother.

  7. Apollo • The god Apollo’s realm is light, music, reason, and mice. • One of his symbols is the lyre.

  8. Dionysus • Dionysus is the god of wine and merriment. • And his symbol is grape leaves. • He is the only god with a mortal mother.

  9. Hermes • Hermes is the messenger of the gods. • His symbols are his staff, his winged boots, and his winged cap.

  10. Hephaestus • Hephaestus is the son of Zeus and the husband of Aphrodite. • Hephaestus’ symbol is the anvil and hammer. • His realm is the blacksmith of the gods. • Hephaestus was a very caring child to his mother, and she always had a temper. So once he got himself into one of their fights (and of course he sided with his mother) and Zeus got really mad and threw him out of Olympus. He was flying in the air for one whole day! Finnally the next he slammed onto An island called Lemnos.

  11. Artemis • Artemis’ realm is the goddess of the hunt. • Her symbols are the crescent moon, bow, and arrow.

  12. Hestia • Hestia is the goddess of the hearth. • Her symbol is the hearth.

  13. Hades • Hades’ symbols are the black horses, black chariot, and the cap of invisibility. • His realm is god of the underworld. • Hades is also the evil brother of Zeus. But he still has to follow Zeus’ rules.
