User Roles • District-level users can create and interact with lower-level users. The different district roles allow users to perform different tasks. • School Assessment Coordinators are often school or program administrators or principals. They can create school-level users and edit test settings, accommodations and restrictions for students within their institution as well as access the Online Reporting System. • Test Monitor/Teacher/Test Data Entry users can perform different assessment-related tasks. Minnesota Assessments Portal All AIR systems are accessed through the Minnesota Assessments portal located atwww.mnstateassessments.org.
Minnesota Assessments Portal As Assessment Coordinators, your primary portal entry will be the “Assessment Coordinators” page.
Resources Pages The “Resources” pages are where all documentation will be found. The “Resources” pages are divided by functional area.
Logging In Minnesota Assessments systems provided by AIR use a Common Login System. If you are logged into one system, you are logged into all of them and can switch between systems.
TIDE TIDE is the repository for all student and user information. It is also where accommodated paper materials are ordered, initial orders are viewed and additional materials are ordered, depending on the administration.
TIDE Tabs • The TIDE interface uses tabs, which resemble file folders, as the principal means of navigating between tasks. Some tasks in the TIDE interface contain multiple sub-tasks. • TIDE is automatically configured to show only the features that are available for each user role. The image below shows features available for District Assessment Coordinators.
District Assessment Coordinator TIDE Tasks • The following features and functions, called tasks, are included in TIDE. Tasks are identified by their tab names. • These are the major task groups in TIDE: • “Contact Info”: Here is where DACs will verify their contact information. This is the default ship-to address. • “Student Information”: View student information, including test settings such as assigned accommodations and test restrictions. • “Manage Users”: Add, upload, view and edit information for users within a user’s institution who are below the user’s designated role level. • “Orders”: Order or view paper material orders for initial and additional orders. • “Invalidations”: Create an invalidation for a specific student’s test. • “Upload Roster”: Upload rosters of students to be used in the Online Reporting System. This includes the ability to do batch uploads. • “Non-Disclosure”: Acknowledge and accept the non-disclosure terms and conditions. • “General Resources”: Access resources for the AIR systems including the NeoSpeech ™ Julie voice pack for use with online testing.
Tasks in TIDE for Online Testing • Verify contact information: Verify the District Assessment Coordinator’s contact information for the selected administration. • Non-Disclosure Agreement: This task is required for all users who will be administering Minnesota Assessments. Read the Non-Disclosure Agreement, and then click the “I Acknowledge” button. • View student information: The “View Student Details” page shows demographic and test-related information for the selected student. • View/add district- and school-level users: This section of TIDE allows authorized users to add new users or modify existing users. • Create class rosters: Use the “Upload Roster File” page to create class rosters for the Online Reporting System and Learning Point Navigator. • Invalidations : The “Invalidations” page allows you to indicate that a student’s online test score should be invalidated for a specified reason.
Tasks in TIDE for Paper Testing • Verify contact information: Verify the District Assessment Coordinator’s contact information for the selected administration. • Non-Disclosure Agreement: This task is required for all users who will be administering Minnesota assessments. Read the Non-Disclosure Agreement, and then click the “I Acknowledge” button. • Supplemental Information page: District Assessment Coordinators and District Administrators provide additional information on materials that need to be shipped for the selected test administration. • On-Time (Initial) Orders: View the materials preloaded for your school. You may view the preloaded quantities, but you cannot make changes in most cases. • Additional Orders: Place additional and accommodated orders during the Additional Orders window
Paper Materials • To order paper test materials in TIDE, District Assessment Coordinators must complete the Supplemental Information task. • Districts and schools do not need to order regular test materials for paper administrations. • For paper administrations, districts and schools will be sent on-time print test materials based on their enrollment counts. • For the Written Composition GRAD retests, District Assessment Coordinators must order accommodated materials such as large print and Braille test materials in TIDE. • Additional orders may be placed in TIDE under the “Orders” tab only by a District Assessment Coordinator.

Data Entry Interface Entered by authorized users. MTAS and accommodated paper. Users log in to the Data Entry Interface and use the student’s information to log in and enter student’s answers or scores. Must use a supported version of Mozilla Firefox.
