Homework Expectations: • Given most nights (may be assigned on Fridays) • 15-30 minutes • 5 points per assignment (1 point for checking odd answers at the back of the text book) • One missed assignment per marking period is not penalized. • 10% of the grade is based on homework completion • If absent, do assignment and show it to me upon completion.

  4. Tests • Occur every 3-4 sections of the text • Email reminder sent in advance • Practice tests provided (typically two days before the test) • Parents must sign tests • Students who score below a ____% will have to meet with me to review the test so that I can verify their proficiency with the material.

  5. Home Access Center (H.A.C.) Updated within two school days of every test/quiz with TWO grades: • Homework grade for the section being tested • Test/quiz grade

  6. Classzone • www.classzone.com– see directions for logging in • Includes: • Online edition of textbook • Practice quizzes • Tutorials • Games

  7. Math Help Times • Advisory (8:00 – 8:35) if student does not have another commitment • S.O.S. (2:45 – 3:00) • Before school at 7:30 am (by appointment) - I always try to be available on test days.

  9. How should my child study for a math test? • Practice test – BEST preparation • Re-do homework problems (without looking at answers) • Do example problems (cover answer) • Chapter Review at end of chapter • Use resources on Classzone.com • Get extra help if necessary
