Organizational Example • From Vision / Mission statements, …“need to increase membership”. • Goal: XY Chapter of Pi Lambda Phi had a membership of 43 brothers at the end of the 2008-2009 school year. Based on the need to ensure a viable long-term organization dedicated to growth, we will increase our net active membership (after graduations, transfer, etc) by 10%. We will accomplish this by the end-of-school year 2010.
“SMART” Goal Setting Specific: Increase net active membership by 10% Measurable: Set percentage increase over actual membership Achievable: Used past membership goals for achievability Relevant: Relates directly to long-term viability Time-based: Times for completion are identified
