For printing in different surfaces different kinds of inks are available in the market. in this article we will focus upon two major types known as flexographic and gravure. At first let’s discuss about Flexographic Printing ink. The question that comes to the mind is that what is flexography? It is a process of printing mainly on non porous substances like cardboard boxes, food packaging, paper and plastic bags, newspapers. Even there are types in flexographic ink like •Water based •UV curable •Solvent The type of ink which is required depends upon the substance on which the printing would take place. Rotogravure Printing inks like flexographic ink are water based, solvent based and of less thickness. Due to its less viscous nature this ink are placed within the cylinder. Water based gravure ink are used in food packaging industry. Both flexographic ink and gravure ink have similar constituents.
