Software for the new power supply system 2002 May 30 T.Tsuboyama
The whole system was delivered from Kenwood on 13 May • A PS system consists of • Two crates • Total of 13 isolated PS units. • 11 LVPS + 2 HVPS • Built-in sequencer • Voltage/current setting • Voltage/current limit • Ramp up/down control (HV) • GPIB interface
Software • A huge test program was developed by Kenwood. • It seems a simple modification of this software does not work. • Similar lines are repeatedly used many times: the code is difficult to read. • It assumes one GPIB card and one GPIB address. • It is an interactive program through console.
The software to be developed • One computer with two GPIB interface cards controls the 10 systems. • NSM driven: Linux is essential. • Commands are sent through NSM messages or unix signals. • Monitor data from PS is sent back to DAQ through NSM. • Interlock information from P.S. is sent to CDAQ via NSM messages.
