Miscellaneous information of Ireland Brief History: The first settlers were hunter-gatherers around 8000 B.C. Many different groups followed including the Celts, Normans and then eventually the Christians. Then, thousands of years later, Ireland became part of the U.K. in 1801 until 1922 when it separated and became the Republic of Ireland, while Northern Ireland stayed in the U.K. The reason for the separation was a war between the Catholics of the Republic of Ireland and the Protestants of Northern Ireland.Famous Citizens: Some famous Irish-Americans are: JFK, Pierce Brosnan and the members of U2.
