USPS Updates September 2010
USPSCN / BIOSCN • BIOSCN can now require that the employee number and social security number be different • The ability to automatically default the employee number based on the following parameters has also been added • Number of letters from last name • Starting increment • Number to increment by • These are the same parameters available in MASCHG/MASID
USPSCN/BIOSCN The employee number defaulting behavior and the requirement that the SSN and employee number differ are controlled by EMPIDS_PREFS.INI file to be placed in each districts OECN$DTA directory This is important for ITC’s to note as the default behavior of the application is to require the SSN and employee number differ In order to override this behavior ITCs will need to copy a version of EMPIDS_PREFS.INI to each district’s OECN$DTA directory previous to installing the September release
MASCHG/CHGEMPID CHGEMPID will now accept a properly formatted CSV file as a means to load employee numbers This CSV file will allow the loading of employee numbers that do not conform to the MASCHG/MASID parameters Previously this could only be done via a foreign command and required ITC intervention
General: Command Procedures Previously SSDT supported command procedures that required the sending of e-mail relied on PMDF being installed This was a problem for some ITCs that did not wish to continue licensing this product This requirement has been removed and the procedures utilize a new Java based solution to send e-mail
USPLOAD • Added the ability to load all modifiable fields that were missing from various USPLOAD programs • This update warranted modifications to the following USPLOAD sub-programs • BIOSCN • JOBSCN • DEDNAM • DEDSCN • ATDSCN • PAYSCN
USPLOAD USPLOAD has been updated so that the USPLOAD header names match the names returned by Safari ODBC whenever possible

USPEMS/PERDET Validations for the new CC and CJ records have been added to the PERDET report
