  2. What will we be studying? • This topic can be divided into 4 areas • The causes of WW1 • The Experience of War • The Home Front • The End of the War

  3. The Basics • World War One was fought between 1914 and 1918. • Millions of men died fighting in this conflict and many lost their lives on the home front also. The war became known as ‘the war to end all wars.’ • But why did this war start? And who was fighting who?

  6. World War One changed the lives of million of people. • As well as this, it changed the appearance of Europe. • Look at the maps of Europe in 1914 and 1919 and note down 5 changes that took place
