MCBX Corrector Mounting • Cantilever corrector off of Q2B end plate. • Four (4) mounting bolts. • 20 mm spacer between end plate and corrector for flow. T. Page
MCBX Corrector MountingANSYS Analysis • Determine the deflection due to it’s own weight. • Modeled just the 15mm thick outer aluminum cylinder. • Simulated weight = 1105 lbs. (500 kg). • Gravity load. • Fixed the end plate around the perimeter. • Specifications from IR Quad Alignment Table: • Corrector Displacement 500 m [.0197 in] • Corrector Roll 5 mrad T. Page

MCBX Corrector MountingStatus • Initial design complete for MCBX to Q2B mounting. • Mounting ring design discussed with CERN and efforts are underway to integrate the ring into the MCBX design. • Same concept is proposed for mounting correctors to Q1 and Q3. • Q1 Lead End • Q3 Lead End • Q3 Non-Lead End • Awaiting more information on the KEK end plate design. Possible incompatibility with floating end plate design. T. Page
Q2A / Q2B Weld Test • Magnet Q2 consists of two cold masses that will be joined together to form one magnet. • Cold mass alignment issues • Magnetic Performance • Beam tube insertion • The “Weld Test” is an experiment to test the welded connection between cold masses Q2A and Q2B. T. Page
