The Sun • The Sun is a big ball of gas! • It is also the biggest star • The sun provides us heat on a beautiful day we really take advantage of the sun here on Earth. • 1, 000, 000 earths could fit inside the sun! that is a lot!
Moons • Gravity pulls the moons around! • They are bodies that orbit planets also called satellites.
The Solar System! • 4, 500, 000, 000 years ago (that is a really long time) the sun and the 9 planets created a swirling disk of dust and ice and a lot of gas in space. • If you ever want to visit the solar system it is located in the Milky Way Galaxy.
Dwarf Planets A dwarf planet actually has a star shaped body. The dwarf planets are located in the Kuiper belt, so if you want to see the dwarf planets I recommend the Kuiper belt. On our trip we saw all three dwarf planets in the Kuiper belt. The dwarf planets are called Pluto, Cere, and Eris.
Asteroids • That they are very important to us because they are full of iron • Also that they orbit the sun because of a thing in the solar system called the asteroid belt • They are also rocky and they have a planet like body • And some asteroids can be huge and some can be really tiny.
Comets • Comets are made of gas. • They travel around the Sun and then come back around earth and we get to see a comet sometimes. • It goes on long journeys around the Sun. • And most Comets are as big as Earth.
