  2. Why mobile usage in the car and while walking is dangerous. Texting while driving • Distracting • Not aware of what speed limit • How close you are to other cars and people. Walking while texting • Walk through a red light • Walk across a road

To protect yourself to overcome this danger you could: • Not use any technology while in the car • Not use technology while walking in the street If To Prevent this happening to other people. • If you see a person walking with their ear buds in or texting someone go up to them and say to concentrate on the roads and be careful. • The police are also catching out people that are texting while driving.

  4. How could it affect you ? • This could affect us if we: • Were walking to the tram stop and we were texting someone

  5. Experiment • A 2010 experiment with Car and Driver showed that texting while driving had a greater effect on safety than driving drunk. •Unimpaired: .54 seconds to brake •Legally drunk: add 4 feet •Reading e-mail: add 36 feet •Sending a text: add 70 feet
