Today’s bridge club was really well done, and the food was amazing. Anyways, I was wondering if you could please help me out with my Mrs. Myrna column. It would be very appreciated. If you’re not too busy that is. Minny Jackson 12/7/2012 9:00 p.m. Aibileen, how are you holding up? I know things are difficult with your new bathroom coming in, but you’re a strong woman. You have the power of prayer and God will get you out of all this drama. Path to Fame I always knew I was going to become a house maid. My mother was a house maid, and my grandmother was a house slave. However, I did not always want to be a maid. I had something else in mind for myself, but God put me here for a reason. Hilly Holbrook 12/8/2012 8:32 a.m. How’s your bathroom? I hope you love it. I know I feel much better knowing that me and my children are safe from any sicknesses. Isn’t it nice having your very own bathroom, all thanks to me? Aibileen Clark Aibileen Clark 12/9/2012 6:14 a.m. Today is silver shining day. I can’t wait to see my baby girl Mae Mobley. I’m missing my own son Treelore though… Friends Minny Jackson Constantine Jefferson 12/11/2012 10:41 p.m. How’s Skeeter holding up? I know I haven't been able to contact her for years now. I miss her, I hope she’s grown to become a mighty fine young woman. Skeeter Phelan Elizabeth Leefolt 12/12/2012 8:05 p.m. Aibileen! Keep Mae Mobley away from me okay? I am busy and do not want to be interrupted by her again. Make sure to finish all your work too. Hilly Holbrook

Claude Monet Aibileen Clark Studied till seventh grade.* Lives in Jackson, Mississippi* Single* Born on October 3, 1911 Basic Info I always knew I was going to become a house maid. My mother was a house maid, and my grandmother was a house slave. However, I did not always want to be a maid. I had something else in mind for myself, but God put me here for a reason. I love the little babies I have raised after all these years. Mae Mobley is my favorite though. After my son Treelore passed away, may he rest in peace, Mae was my baby. She was my chance to start over, raise another child of mine. I love her and she’s a strong, kind, perfect little girl. I hope she doesn’t give in to a society that shuns and mistreats us African Americans. She’s better than that, I have faith in her. If only my son was here though. I love him and not a day goes by where I don’t think about him. He left me so fast, Society hurt him. He died because he needed that job. It wasn’t the job for him, but he couldn’t get another one. I wish it could all just change. About Aibileen Friends Philosophy Mae Mobley Favorite Quotations “You is smart. You is kind. Aibileen Clark Miss Leefolt wanted me to clean the silver today. There is a bridge club meeting and I have to constantly work through the party. Silver cleaning always takes so long. This is my church. I attend every Sunday and I am mighty proud of myself. I have this kind o special connection with God and my prayers are always considered. My prayer is very powerful. My maid uniform which I wear every day to work. I have no dress choice, I just wear this to work. Its simple and the norm for all maids. Minny and I are matching now! My Life By Aibileen Clark (Albums) * Updated 12/12/2012 My shoes are so worn out, but a new pair is seven dollars. I just don’t have enough money to buy a new pair. Im going to have to save for a while now. This is Ida’s trusty vegetable garden, which is in my backyard. Her backyard is so cluttered that she had to grow her plants here. Thanks to her I made it through a really rough patch and stayed alive. I need those vegetables to survive.
Aibileen Clark This is my baby girl. My little Mae Mobley. I love her with all my heart, especially since my son Treelore passed away recently. She’s my life now and I love her so much. She is smart, kind, and important. Miss Leefolt doesn’t see all that though. The bathroom has been installed. I have to use this bathroom from now on because I have supposed “diseases”. This really hurt me. I cant use the bathroom inside anymore because of racism. This is mister Leefolt. Miss Leefolt’s husband, and he’s an interesting man. He isn't exactly the nicest and was in a really bad mood today, because Miss Leefolt asked about installing a bathroom for me. My Situations By Aibileen Clark (Albums) * Updated 12/12/2012 When we finally get to meet on the job, Minny and I just joke around. We have a good time, even while serving others. She’s my best friend and I love her for all she has done for me. This is one of those situations you I wish you were never in. I heard the talk about the new bathroom for me and I am actually not shocked. This is normal, racism is normal. Miss Leefolt is going to want me to have my own bathroom now.
