UNCW One Card • The UNCW One Card is the official form of identification on campus. It should be in your possession only – Do not lend card to others for any reason. • ACCESS:to university buildings, parking lots, campus facilities, and used for university services and events. • RETAIL :THREEoptional accounts on the UNCW One Card: • Seahawk Buck$ • Bookstore Dollars • Meal Swipes & Food Dollars • In the near future, your One Card will be able to do even more! • The UNCW One Card office will be upgrading their system which will utilize a second embedded chip that will allow tap and go transactions. Parking & Transportation • Motor Fleet:As of November of 2013, Enterprise joined UNCW’s Travel Office to provide car rentals for UNCW employee travel. For complete procedures, please visit the Travel Office Website under Employee Car Rental. • 14 Passenger Bus Rental:Motor Fleet continues to offer two 14 Passenger buses for use while on official university business, including special tours or other needs. • NEW solar-powered parking meters coming soon! • To enhance efforts of providing an eco-friendly service, the Parking and Transportation office is in the process of upgrading all parking meters to solar powered meters that accept credit cards. • Shuttle Services: COMING SOON Teal Terminal - It will feature two monitors that will show the shuttles’ estimated time of arrival, and a map illustrating the location of each shuttle on their specific route using GPS. • Parking and Transportation to operate two shuttles routes soon! • To enhance efficiency and conserve resources, the Parking and Transportation office will begin to operate the Crest (CMS) Shuttle, and the Point-to-Point shuttle. The Subway location is being expanded with more seating! • Be Eco-Friendly and use Recycled Envelopes for Intra-Campus Mail! • Recycled envelopes can be used for intra-campus mail correspondence. Asset Management Real Property • Tangible property is defined as buildings, land or equipment • Anything that you can see, feel or touch would be considered real property. Keep a current inventory listing of your department’s real property!
Insurance • Placement of insurance on real property indemnifies and minimizes the impact of financial loss to owners/users when a covered event occurs. • Specialty equipment • Property Insurance – provides coverage for direct physical damage. • Fire, theft and windstorms. • Coverage is for replacement cost less policy deductible. • Service/Maintenance Insurance-provides coverage for wear and tear or mechanical failure. • Age, excessive usage or an accident. • Coverage is for actual cash value or the actual repair costs.
Insurance • Vehicles • Vehicles are insured on an actual cash value basis. • Settlements are paid less the policy deductible. • Comprehensive losses are paid less the $50 deductible. • Fire, theft, windshields. • Collision losses are paid less the $100 deductible. • Impact, upset or over turn.
Insurance • Your departmental equipment or your departmental vehicle is insured once it has been added to the designated insurance policy. • There is no automatic insurance coverage for real property. • Insurance premiums are a departmental expense.
Vehicle Usage Vehicles UNC-General Administration employees are only allowed to use State vehicle for official university travel purposes consistent with NC Motor Fleet Management Regulations. When an employee is required to use a state-owned vehicle for travel while away from his/her work station, the vehicle may be used for travel to obtain meals and other necessities, but not for entertainment or any personal purposes. A state employee may not use a state-owned vehicle for obtaining meals and other necessities unless he/she is in travel status, or approved commuter status. • Students who are employees can only drive a vehicle if it is a required job function. And it has to be a required function for the job for which they were hired. • Academic exceptions .
Accident/Incident Reporting • All vehicle accidents/incidents must be reported to IRM. • All incidents involving third parties must be reported. • All incidents attributed to the condition ofstate property. • All incidents resulting in personal injury.
